Help Us Save Our Beautiful Green Belt
For All of Us
About the Fight
I would like to make you aware if you are not already that a planning application P26/0380 has been submitted to Dudley Council to build 557 homes on “the triangle” which are the agricultural fields opposite Summerhill School. Click this link to sign petition
We the “Wall Heath & Kingswinford Green Belt Group” are looking to fight this application as well as another application for 330 homes on the Holbeach site which again is an agricultural field at the back of the Charterfield estate located on the edge of Wall Heath.
Why are we doing this…. Dudley council in their local plan believe they have found enough brown field sites to satisfy the planning inspectorates requirements. The developers have stated that the Triangle and Holbeach sites (in their opinion) are of poor agricultural quality and they should be recategorized as “Greybelt” not Greenbelt … we understand the farmer has successfully been growing crops on these fields for generations without any issues.
If these additional houses were to be built the increase in population would mean longer doctor / dentist appointments and school places would also be under pressure, never mind road congestion due to the increased car numbers. Please see below for a number’s breakdown, detailing other sites and the impact it will have locally. Please note Ketley Quarry site is a brown field site, and we are in favour of this going ahead. As all the others are green field sites, we strongly oppose their development.
We have created this website to enable us to give up to date information, the site gives people the opportunity to "sign up to a mailing list” with their email address (Please note - these details will NOT be passed on to any other organisation) They are solely for the purpose of us informing people of meetings and important events like petition deadlines. In addition, there is a link for future petitions that could then be signed via the website.
Our email address is whandkwgreenbelt@outlook.com

Donating the the Cause
"We are trying to raise money to fund our objections to housing developments on Green Belt land in the local area. The two main reasons for fundraising are for a consultant in planning to support our fight and make sure our objections are made in the correct format dictated by the planning inspectorate. Marketing is the second large expense, ensuring we get our message out to all the community.”
We have set up 2 ways to pay donations.
- We have a Crowd funding page: Holbeache and the Triangle Green not Grey
or
- Dudley Building Society

ONS Statistics (2025/6)
National Average:
Number of residents per household - 2.4
Number of children per household - 1.7
Number of cars per household - 1.49
| Site | No. of homes | No. of residents | No. of children | No. of cars |
| Ketley Quarry – outline planning permission under review | 650 | 1560 | 1105 | 968 |
| Holbeache Field – outline planning application | 330 | 792 | 561 | 492 |
| Himley Meadows – planning application with South Staffs | 90 | 216 | 153 | 134 |
| Bridgnorth Road – planning application with South Staffs | 115 | 276 | 469 | 171 |
| Triangle – consultation document | 557 | 1344 | 952 | 830 |
| Total | 1742 | 4188 | 3240 | 2595 |
The potential total, additional number of households within 1 mile of Wall Heath and Kingswinford village centres would be 1,745. This figure does include 2 South Staffordshire sites.
The potential total, additional number of people living within 1 mile of Wall Heath and Kingswinford, would be 4,188. Although 492 of these would officially be residents of and paying their council tax to South Staffs, they could, potentially be accessing Dudley services such as hospitals, dentists and shops.
The potential total number of additional children in the area seeking nursery and school places would be 3,240 (though, clearly, some of these would be younger than nursery/school age). 622 of these would officially be South Staffs children but due to the proximity of both sites to Maidensbridge / Church of Ascension Schools, there would be some potential impact on school places.
The potential number of privately owned extra cars and vans locally would be 2269.
This does not take vehicles owned by companies but used by local residents for work.
The national average of 1.49 cars is, for this area, low.
